Review By: John S.
Bold Love is a team effort by a "front lines" Christian psychologist and a Westminster biblical scholar who have been close friends for many years. This book takes Christian love off the shelf of mere religious ideals and brings it down into the battles of life in this fallen world. The authors say that life's warfare takes place on the battleground of relationships. They believe that when dealing with other people we need to be shrewd and creatively loving. When someone sins against you, instead of merely "forgiving and forgetting" one should pursue the offender with bold love and seek real restoration of relationship. Depending on the degree of sin, this can mean anything from simply "offering a cup of cold water" to actively undermining evil with wise, premeditated, well-timed good deeds. If you are ready for your comfortable Christianity to be challenged and enriched, try this honest, courageous book.
